U11  Rushmoor Saints Eagles  0  Fleet Town Colts  8  (Cup)
Potentially a tricky tie as Fleet took on lower league opposition and hopefully secure a place in the semi-finals. Fleet dominated the first ten minutes as Lewis H had his shot saved and Ben H put his shot inches wide. As in all cup games, the nerves were quickly settled as Fleet took an early 0-2 lead from relentless pressure. With the ball in the box, both Steven and Lewis W had their shots blocked but Max pounced to open the scoring. From the restart, Jayden broke free down the right and his ball over was met by Lewis H to slide in and put Fleet 2 up. Then a break in pressure from Fleet allowed the Eagles to have a good ten minute spell but our defenders stood firm. Fleet regained control of the game as more attempts on goal came, but it was awhile before the Colts got their 3rd. Harry finding the space to run at the Eagles defence, from just outside the box he lashed in a shot to the far corner. All one way traffic as shots rained in on the Rushmoor keeper, but both Ryan and Lewis H blasting over the bar. Jayden then had two glorious chances to get goal number 4 but firstly shot at the keeper and then shot well wide. Half time, 0-3 up as Fleet looked comfortable but a little rusty in front of goal. Into the second half and the league differences started to show, Olly & Myles spraying the ball around with ease. Our midfield had the confidence to play high up the field meaning Rushmoor could barely get out of the last third. This forced a fourth goal as a defender error let in Lewis W to slide the ball home from the tightest of angles. Again, relentless pressure and closing down forced a weak clearance from the keeper and Lewis H made it 0-5. From one of many Mathew corners, the ball fell nicely to Lewis W as he hit a half volley just inches over the bar. Then Lewis H broke into the box and his shot was saved at full stretch as the ball fell invitingly to Steven for 0-6. Probably the simplest but most well taken goal came from Olly, a deft chip back over the stranded keeper for #7. The game was capped by the goal of the game as another of Myles passes split the opposition defence wide open. With Olly surging in on goal, a neat one touch triangle with Steven who found Lewis W to finish a superb move 0-8. Rushmoor almost stole in at the end but Kai was equal to a counter attack, securing this seasons first clean sheet. Man of the Match was awarded to Myles Burnett, superb vision and barely a long or short pass went astray.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  3  Mayford Athletic Tigers  3  (SPL Premier League)
In a must win game for the Colts, 3pts were required to stay in contention and on the heels of Premier league leaders Woking Cougars. For the first ten minutes, Fleet took the game to Mayford and should really of been looking at a healthy 2-0 lead to settle the nerves. Myles had made up a lot of ground down the right flank, his ball through to Daniel was well struck but palmed and saved by the keeper. Then Lewis H's shot showed it was going to take something special to beat what was turning out to be a very very good Athletic keeper. Against the run of play, Mayford took the lead as a wayward defencive pass fell invitingly to their striker to confidently fire the ball home. Fleet were a little nervy after this as they nearly went 2 down as the burly Athletic striker found himself through but blocked by Ben (gk). Although Fleet created, they resorted to long distance efforts that were never going to trouble the very capable Mayford keeper. With a cute piece of skill, Fleet drew the game back level when Daniel cushioned a cross with his head and finish with a left footed belter. But within minutes Fleet found themselves behind again, their striker left unchallenged as he wriggled his way through the defence 1-2. Despite going behind, both Steven & Lewis H were denied as Mayford became very reliant on their keeper's handling and awareness. With only seconds to go before the half time whistle, Daniel struck again with his left foot that the keeper could only watch fly in. Two a piece as we entered the second half and Fleet should of taken the lead from a penalty, but sent just wide of the post by Mathew. Mayford had peeked to early and it was now Fleet looking the most likely to score, Max latched onto a defencive error but shot wide. Lewis H used his strength to get clear of a defender but the keeper was out quick to block his shot and then Max's shot saved at near post. The Mayford keeper was our only hurdle, after what looked like a triple save from him the ball fell to Myles but he hit the side netting. Fleet finally took the lead when Myles, Olly & Daniel all combined to find Steven unmarked in the area to fire home for a 3-2 advantage. Just when it seemed Fleet had done enough to bag the points, a break by Mayford was initially saved by Ben but they scored the rebound. The game finished 3-3 and Fleet now have to rely on Woking to slip up twice and also go there and beat them. Tall order but not impossible. Man of the Match went to Liam Weldon, up against a couple of determined strikers but battled tirelessly to the end.

U11  Spelthorne Sports  1  Fleet Town Colts  7  (Cup)
Saturday became match day as the out of form Colts travelled to a possible banana skin, Spelthorne being mid placed lower down in division 2. The weather was cold and windy so the ball would have to be played at ground level for the boys to find their feet and hopefully open the scoring quickly. It all slotted into place as the Colts found themselves 3 up after just 10 minutes having really set about Spelthorne defence with real purpose. Olly was key to this early onslaught as he set Dan free down the left, he found Jayden in the middle and after 2 attempts Jayden forced the opener. Within seconds of the restart the boys were 2 to the good, Lewis W's long run from midfield and a shot to send the ball high in to the roof of the net. Olly created the third as he sent a chaser for Daniel, flicking it round the keeper but taking it too wide he was still able to find the net from an acute angle. Then it stayed at 0-3 for a while as our forwards got a little complacent in front of goal, Jayden missing a sitter as Daniel laid it on plate for him. Maybe Spelthorne picked up on this and looked to claw the game back, a Navy striker clean through put Ben (gk) quickest to react to clear the ball. As Fleet seemed a little to happy to sit on a 3 goal cushion, Spelthorne were given a free kick on the edge of the box which Ben (gk) got a hand to and wide. With the half nearly over, a little show boating is nice to watch as Daniel crossed and Myles tried the cheekiest of back heels which just went wide of the post. Into the second half and Olly & Steven became heavily involved with our creative play, Steven laid it into Daniel but just beaten to it by the keeper. Olly then found Lewis W out wide, as he drove into the box he placed the ball into the far corner way beyond the keepers reach for a long awaited 0-4. It could of been 0-5 as Steven wriggled his way through their defence and with a little lay-off found Daniel, but he put the ball straight down the keepers throat. Best move of the game and it should of been goal number 5 as Myles and Jay worked some neat triangles together, but Myles again shooting at the keeper. Chance after chance but goal number 5 did arrive as Daniel went into wingers mode, surging into the box he gifted it on a platter for Steven to side foot home. Goals 6 & 7 soon followed as Max strolled onto the pitch to bag himself a brace with 2 very well taken poaches as the Colts applied some constant pressure. With the game nearly at a close, Fleet just switched off from a throw-in and the ball over was met un-challenged for the Navy to bury a consolation goal 1-7. Man of the Match was awarded to Oliver Tye, bossed the midfield with tackles and then immediately turning that possession into chances.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  1  Chertsey Town Blues  4  (SPL Premier League)
Oh dear, bad day at the office all round as Chertsey came looking for revenge of the 8-3 drubbing we gave them last time round. From the first whistle, Fleet never looked comfortable or composed. All the bad habits from before crept into their performance. Chertsey looked most likely to open the scoring when Mathew's air shot let the striker through on goal but shot wide of the post. But very soon after, Fleet did go behind as an invited long range effort beyond the reach of Ben (gk) nestled in the far corner Fleet nearly levelled the game as Lewis W split the Chertsey defence wide open, but his pass to Dan was smothered by the keeper. But back came Chertsey as Ben (gk) had to pull off the save of the game, at full stretch he managed to push the ball wide of the post. As the half drew to a close, Fleet's second only real attack came to nothing and on the stroke of half time Chertsey doubled their lead. At the restart it almost got worse, Ben (gk) having to make a point blank save as the Blues just walked through the defence. Chertsey smelt blood and they eventually took advantage from an absence of numbers at the back and Fleet went 3 down. With a glimmer of hope, Fleet pulled a goal back as Max got down the line and his ball in met Dan to wriggle his way through to score. A come back looked likely as the boys pushed for a second, Lewis W beat 3 players but as he lined up to shoot his shot was blocked. With time ticking away it was all to little to late as Chertsey thundered in their fourth goal from short range and it was clearly game over. Man of the Match went to Lewis Wall, tried to take the game by the scruff of the neck with a few solo efforts worthy of a goal.

U11  Worplesdon Rangers  1  Fleet Town Colts  4  (SPL Premier League)
After the Christmas and New Year break and now into the second half of the season, Fleet looked a rejuvenated and well balanced passing side. Up against a team today sitting just below us in third place and for the first ten minutes both teams stood toe to toe seeking out the opener. Fleet had fallen into the trap before Christmas of just hoofing the ball forward for our strikers to run onto, which worked for us at times. But today the boys got down to playing some of the most attractive football we've seen all season, even the movement off the ball was evident. Rangers were a big powerful side and used this to great effect, able to muscle us out and win corners that were put into the heart of our defence. From a spell of these corners Ben (gk) managed to tip the ball round the post as Rangers forced three more corners in a row. Something had to give as Rangers eventually took the lead, a half clearance saw the ball lofted back over Ben (gk) to lead 1-0. This seemed to launch Fleet into some of their best passing play to date, seeing the boys pass and play their way through the opposition. Steven, Max and Jayden playing keep ball down the right and that let Max into the box to have our first real threat at goal but well saved. With possession and technique, Fleet were now bossing the game and playing up field but were unable to find the shot to level the game. Fleet were at their most creative down the flanks and forced a corner, Lewis W then swiveled on his left peg to smash the ball home for 1-1. Playing with confidence and accuracy, Ryan laid a pass into Jayden's stride and holding off three defenders he slotted home for a 1-2 lead. It was all Fleet now as Max and Steven were running a mock with the Rangers wide players as Max's trickery set up Fleet's third of the half. Having jinked his way down the line and with some great hold up play, his cross was dummied by Jayden and Daniel swung his left boot for 1-3 Second half and the Colts could of been 4 or 5 up as Lewis H had a good shot saved, Myles thundered over the bar and Steven headed wide. For a short while, Worplesdon threatened with a few breaks and corners. This ended with them putting a glorious chance sailing over the bar. As the game fizzled out, Ben H stunned us all by stealing the ball from the advancing midfielder and rifled a shot that flew into the roof of the net. It shouldn't go without a mention as not once did our defenders panic today! Harry & Co putting in a classy and decisive shift at the back. In a game where our wide players played a huge part, Man of the Match went to Steven McShane. Delightfully exploited the space in front of him.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  4  Woking Cougars Youth  3  (Cup)
First round of the league cup saw the two strongest sides in the Premier going head to head for the 2nd time this season. Fleet just edged it in that first game and this was going to be just as close, in fact it turned out to be even closer. For ten minutes it was nick and tuck from both sides with Woking definitely the more creative with their passing. It wasn't long before Ben (gk) had to make the first telling save, a close range shot that had to be held and not parried. Woking were able to attack and then pack our box with at least four players which made our defenders panic in their clearances. That gave Steven, Lewis W & Ryan the space and time in midfield to create Fleet's first goal. Ryan switched play to Steven out wide. Steven then forged his way to the edge of the box, his pass across the area was buried neatly into the bottom left by Lewis H for 1-0. Steven again mounted Fleet's next attack, a dissecting pass that sent Daniel in to make it 2-0 as Woking stood wondering what hit them. But as feared, Woking hit back immediately with a header that bounced toward goal and it caught out Ben (gk) down at the far the post. At 2-1 it looked on the cards that Woking would pull it back level, Fleet looking increasingly panicked at the back as we struggled to clear. But Fleet looked good going forward and sprung a third goal as Myles hit a curling lob from the right that dropped in at the far post for 3-1. As half time approached, Ben (gk) had to push the ball on to the post as Woking threatened to close the gap before the break. Into the second half and Woking soon made their chances count, 3-2 as a ball in was neatly slotted home by a Woking forward. The Colts then went into self destruct mode, being totally on the back foot and the aimless passes were pounced upon by the Cougars. Ben (gk) again saved onto the post then had to block a short range shot, but he was finally beaten with a lob to bring the game level at 3-3. Fleet finally saved their best for the last few minutes, Max had tried his runs all game and this time cut the ball back quite a way to Ryan. To avoid the dreaded Extra time, Ryan's inch perfect and well weighted ball put Daniel clear to clinch victory in the dieing moments with 4-3. Man of the Match went to Ryan Green who battled for the entire game, an infectious mixture of brawn and finesse.

U11  Windlesham Crusaders  2  Fleet Town Colts  2  (SPL Premier League)
League positions suggested this should of been 3pts in the bag today but the Crusaders are a better side than their league results and position show. On a long narrow pitch, Fleet struggled to get a hold of the game. Windlesham by far the more assertive side and took the lead midway the the half. The Colts occasionally ventured up field but were pegged back numerous times, the Crusaders having 3 or 4 very good attack minded players. Windlesham nearly doubled their lead when one of those attackers broke into the box, Ben (gk) needed both hands to push his shot round the post. As Windlesham pushed up, Max stole the ball in midfield and sent Daniel clear on the break to bring the game level with the help of the post for 1-1. With Fleet unable to carve out any real chances and sustain any pressure, they twice let Windlesham in on goal but thankfully put both wide. It was all down to Ben (gk) to keep us in the game now as the Crusaders rained the shots in on his goal, even making a double save at one point. Fleet finally imposed themselves as the half drew to a close, Steven's run ended with a great ball in to Lewis H who pulled a diving save out of the keeper. Then Daniel ran into acres of space down the right, but with a great ball in behind all the defenders there was no one on hand to bury the ball home. Half time 1-1. Much better play in the second half, putting passes and moves together Fleet were able to penetrate their box more often and making the keeper work. A ten minute spell of pressure paid off, Steven went in field to find Lewis W. He then split two defenders and Mathew's scuffed shot put Fleet 2-1 up. With about ten minutes to go the game opened up, like two boxers slugging it out it was impossible to call who would score or concede next. Unfortunately for the Colts, Windlesham gave it one almighty push and had us on the ropes, exhaustion and confusion in the box lead to 2-a piece. In the dying seconds both sides had the chance to steal the points as Windlesham hit the post and Lewis W danced through but was foiled by the keeper. At the end, a 2-2 draw which was dug out and well contested by both sides. Man of the Match was shared today, Kai Finn at left back who barely put a foot wrong and Ben Knights (gk) for a string of saves and a fabulous double save.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  3  Walton Casuals  1  (SPL Premier League)
Statistically, Fleet hosted their next closest rivals today. Walton only having lost one game and with 3 games in hand on the Colts, it was a 'must not lose' game. Not sure where they got the name Casuals from though as they came out the traps quickly and relentlessly put Fleet's defence under constant pressure. It was all hands to the pumps as Fleet had to concede corner after corner, struggling to get the ball out far enough to give the back four a breather. The odds were on for Walton to score first but despite their pressure and chances, the Casuals lacked any real strike power in front of goal. Fleet's defence even tried to open the scoring for Walton, Harry rose highest to head the ball away but sent it goal bound and thankfully hit the outside of the post. Ben (gk) then pulled off a save as the Colts were really hanging on to 0-0, frantic defending meant they lost their shape so no real outlet when they got the ball. Against the run of play, Daniel could of nicked a 1-0 lead as the keeper spilled but with a rush of blood he somehow put it wide of a begging empty goal net. Full marks to Daniel's confidence though as two minutes later he was in, bending his run to beat Walton's disciplined offside trap he slotted home for a 1-0 lead. This didn't seem to settle the team though, still being over-bossed in midfield and toe-poking panic in defence meant Fleet were fortunate to reach half-time ahead. A much better second half from Fleet, although Walton pressured Fleet they kept shape better and found those outlets, Steven sending the ball into the side netting. Playing their way out of trouble, both the Lewis's began to find our wide players, great runs from Max and Steven using their trickery but should do this more often. But it was back to route one as Fleet doubled their lead, Ryan's through ball again sent Daniel clear with time to think and pick his spot without a challenge for 2-0. Fleet needed this cushion as not at their best today and up against a good side, the casuals lofted the ball over Ben (gk) for a nervous 2-1 final ten finish. Not playing well, the boys did all work very hard as Ben H played a one-two with Steven and having rounded the keeper he again hit the infamous side netting. Walton may of sealed their own fate having closed us down till the end as Fleet hit back with their ace card, Daniel through again for his hat-trick and a 3-1 victory. Man of the Match was a difficult one, but we do have a true play maker in Lewis Wall. Stuck to his role despite the little time and space he had.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  6  Teddington Pumas  2  (SPL Premier League)
Having cemented their lead at the top of the Premier last weekend, Fleet faced lowly placed Pumas in the hunt for goals and another 3pts. But things didn't quite go to plan early on as a clean strike and a penalty meant that the Colts found themselves 0-2 down after 10 minutes. Although Fleet started the game with a lot of possession in midfield, the defence looked a little panicked and our forwards lacked the finish. Lewis W ate up huge ground down the left and laid it into the path of Daniel, only having one corner to aim for it went the wrong side of the post. Again Fleet pressed from midfield, Steven sent Kai in behind the defender who again found Daniel but his shot was tipped round the post. From midfield, Mathew Steven Kai Max & Lewis W all combined to create more than half chances but the shots kept going wide or to the keeper. Max then found Mathew with space down the right, his high ball in bounced once and Jayden pounced to thump the ball into the roof of the net 1-2. Having now dominated 90% of the half, Fleet nearly let the Pumas in again just before the break as they rattled the upright from a corner. Going into the second half, the Colt strikers found their form as Lewis H played Jayden in and from distance found the far left corner to level up 2-2. Jayden then got his Hat-trick as Steven found Lewis W inside, with a deft chip over the defender Jayden ran on to it to slip past the keeper 3-2. Lewis W again became provider for the goal of the game, his ball over was smashed home on the volley in true Rooney style by Myles for a 4-2 lead. The Colts went looking for more goals but at times guilty of going it alone, forgetting that our goals were coming from that decisive final ball. Lewis H surged from deep and just at the right moment drew in the defender and sent Daniel clear, having no problem in putting Fleet 5-2 up. Daniel quickly made it 6-2 as a he latched on to a poor clearance from the keeper, being forced wide he some how found the net from the by-line. As the game closed, the Pumas nearly got a third as a corner in was met with a superb point blank save from Ben (gk) to finish the game at 6-2. Man of the Match for the second game in row was Jayden Cox, not only for his Hat-trick but holding the front line well bringing others into play.

30/10/2011
U11  Fleet Town Colts  4  Woking Cougars  2  (SPL Premier League)
Bar far the most anticipated game to date as these two teams have now started to dominate the premier league. Ten minutes into the game and Fleet found it hard to get out their own half, Woking having most of the possession. Unable to clear our lines the boys found themselves defending corner after corner, Myles making a goal line clearance. But Fleet hit back in superb fashion and i think the explosive finish rocked and unsettled the Cougars confidence. Jayden picked up the ball from deep and then went on a wingers outing, having stripped the left back he should of crossed. But no, from the widest of angles he lashed in a shot that just flew past the keeper and into the far side netting for 1-0. With the Cougars spellbound, Fleet kept up the pressure and Woking had to bring Jayden down on the edge of the area. Lewis W took and picked out Lewis H, the weight of the cross and the deft header carried it over the keeper for 2-0 lead. But as expected, Woking came back as Ryan looked to clear. Going down injured, Fleet stopped dead and Woking scored. At this point, Fleet had to re-jig the defence/midfield as Ben (gk) had to retire unwell and Harry pulling on the keeper jersey. Time for Fleet to absorb a little pressure from Woking, nearly 2-2 as Liam Matty Max all made virtual goal line clearances. The game totally opened up as Fleet pressed again, Max of old was playing with their right back but his ball in wasn't read. Myles & Jayden then made up ground on the right and gave Lewis H a shooting chance, it looped over the keeper for 3-1. A great half as Fleet took their chances and defended resiliently, lost count how many times Ben H cleared up any mess. Second half and Fleet sat on their lead a little, as twice in quick succession Harry had to tip the ball round the post. Midway through the half, this large pitch along with the wind seemed to sap both sides and it became scrappy and untidy. As a big whole appeared in our defence, a Cougar ran clean through bringing the game back to a nail biting 3-2. Fleet finally sent the Cougars home with their tails between their legs, a gratuitous penalty that Lewis W buried top right. A 4-2 win against your closest rivals is great, even better is when a number of our quieter players made their presence felt. Man of the Match was awarded to Jayden Cox, stepped up to the mark in style and spearheaded the attack today.

U11  Lyne Lions  4  Fleet Town Colts  4  (SPL Premier League)
Was this 2pts dropped or 1pt earned? Either way it was fantastic game that swung one way...... and then back the other! One of the disadvantages of being joint league leaders is that you become "the team to beat" in the eyes of your opponents. Today's game was a classic case as Lyne matched Fleet, both sides playing identical football with the same desire and tactics. It started with a quick, bizarre goal from the Lions as a tame ball into the box was miss-judged by Ben (gk) to drop into goal. This didn't appear to worry the Colts as they took the game back to Lyne and spent most of the half dominating possession. From a Ben H free-kick, Ollie sent the ball inches over and then Jayden made the keeper save with his legs at the near post. Relentless pressure from Fleet, keeping the ball and winning corners but not clinical enough as the chances came and went. Time was ticking as Fleet chased the equalizer, Lewis H picked out Myles at the back post but his shot hit the side netting. Harry bided his time and sent Daniel on the chase, sucking the keeper in he placed the ball perfectly in the far corner for 1-1. Fleet took a slight hold of the game as Daniel got his second with a solo run from deep, picking out the same spot to lead 1-2. With the Colts ahead at the interval, the second half was going to be dominated by both sides quick center forwards. It was counter attack after counter attack, as both sides soaked up and hit back on the break. Lyne then coming back to 2-2. There was nothing to separate the 2 sides, Harry making a superb tackle as their super quick forward pulled the trigger. At this stage, the tide had swung back in the Lions favour as Ben (gk) pulled off a full length save to deny Lyne the lead. So back Fleet went as Max and Mathew played keep ball down the left, the ball in was headed home by Daniel for his hat-trick. But your at your most vulnerable when having just scored, Lyne hit us back on the break with their center forward 3-3. End to end football with a matter of minutes left, Jayden took his turn to break but foiled by a tackle as he lined up his shot. Daniel then put Fleet 3-4 up with his 4th...... yes you've guessed it, another break from deep as it looked like all 3pts were safe. But Lyne made no effort to hide they wanted our scalp, from a corner the ball was blasted home with desire by a lone Lion. The whistle went at 4 a-piece and both sides would of been unlucky to walk away empty handed so a fair result me thinks. 2 names must of been in the bag for Man of the Match, but Harry Freeman was barely away from the action area's today.

U11  Farncombe Youth Allstars  1  Fleet Town Colts  8  (SPL Premier League)
After a minor blip in the Cup last week, Fleet got back to their league duty in style and with emphatic goal scoring. The Allstars gave Fleet a scare last time round but the Colts were to hungry today to lose their appetite for goal. Barely 3 Min's into the game and the boys were 0-1 up, Ben & Daniel combined to find Lewis W as he hit home bottom left. Fleet's passing and move in the last couple of games had disappeared but improved drastically today with room for even better. But having finally got into our goal area, the Allstars drew back level after a very clever back header deceived Ben (gk) for 1-1. So Fleet notched it up a level with probably the most confident build-up and clinical finish we've seen all season to lead 1-2. Lewis W & Kai's one-touch show got them deep into the box and the lay-off was perfect for Steven to pin-point the far left corner. It wasn't long before Fleet got their 3rd, Daniel hitting a superb strike that curled away from the keeper into the top right hand corner. With Fleet now dominating and playing higher up the pitch, even our defence became involved with creative spreading passes. Mathew & Harry worked themselves forward and Mathew found Lewis H free down the right, his ball in was blasted over by Lewis W. Jayden nearly made it 4 for Fleet as Lewis H picked him out from wide right, but from close range Jayden found the post and away. With half time looming Ryan delivered what is now his trademark, a ball over Daniel's shoulder to run on to and close the half at 1-4. 30 seconds into the 2nd half and we thought Jayden had made it 1-5, but his effort in-off the inside of the post was ruled off-side. Fleet then missed a number of chances to extend their lead, notably when Lewis W's ball across the face of goal met no-one. 1-5 eventually came as Harry found himself way up the line, his ball in was trapped dead by Lewis W and placed neatly home. Fleet came alive again, Max to Lewis H who put a lottery ball into the crowded box as Liam smashed home from close range 1-6. With the supporters still talking about that goal, Steven's shot took a welcome deflection and nestled in at the near post for 1-7. At this point, Fleet started to wobble with a good 5 min spell from Farncombe as Ben (gk) saved a rasping shot from distance. Ben and his defence did well to keep the Allstars out as Fleet just couldn't get out of their own half and playing very deep. Ryan then tried an audacious effort to open his Fleet account, from just inside his own half he had a pop shot that whistled over. Ben H then restored order, a run into the box and a sideways pass was sneakily toe-poked home by Jayden for a 1-8 finish. Man of the Match went to Mathew Teagle, having had a mixed couple of performances was back amongst the best of them today.

U11  Fleet Town Colts  2  Winsor Sports Youth  5  (Cup)
Fleets winning streak came to an abrupt end against a very strong, disciplined and capable Winsor side. Individually they weren't better player's than Fleet, but played better positionally and always looked like they had a man over. The loose or second ball always fell to Windsor and they always looked to have an outlet which stretched Fleet. They were not a one-man-team but their striker did have a huge influence on the game and we struggled to contain him. Liam was first to deny them the lead with a last gasp challenge to thwart the lofty striker when he was clean through on goal. Amazingly though, Fleet could of been at least 2 down if not for some resolute defending but then Winsor did go 0-1 ahead when a high ball was virtually blown into our goal by the wind. Winsor closed Fleet down time and time again and didn't let us get our passing going, although when we did it was breaking down with players treating the ball like a hot potato or not putting any weight into our passes so Winsor read our play easily. Fleet were never going to score from a creative position in this game, but did manage to bring the game level 1-1 when Max & Ollie played a one-two and Daniel was sent through on goal to score. Turning point in the game i think as Fleet looked confident and matched their opponents and it looked like game on! But just as the half approached, Fleet went asleep as they thought the ball was rolling out of play but a Winsor Youth got to it to lay the ball into the advancing un-marked striker for 1-2. Second half and Fleet had to rely on their soak up and counter attack play if they were to get a result today. But soon it was1-3 after a mix up in the box and then 1-4 after a free-kick seemed to just roll past everyone and into the net. Daniel then made the scoreline a little more respectable when Ryan sent him through and sent the ball in off the post. At 2-4, Fleet never gave up as Jayden through himself across the path of the ball for a dramatic goal line clearance. With a minute to go, Fleet finally conceded defeat and virtually gifted Winsor their 5th goal. No surprise when Ryan Green got Man of the Match for the second game running, consistently catching the eye of the supporters!

U11  Fleet Town Colts  4  Farncombe Youth Allstars  3  (SPL Premier League)
League leader's Fleet had to grind out a result today against second placed Farncombe, narrowly taking all 3pts. It all started very well with crisp, positive passing giving Fleet an early 1-0 lead within the first few minutes of the game. Max drove the ball into Jayden who flicked it over the head of a defender, on the spin Lewis W chipped the stranded keeper. Farncombe were wobbling as Fleet attacked relentlessly, Max again found Ollie in the box but for a glaring miss in front of goal. Having had the Allstars on the rack for awhile, Fleet should have put this game beyond any come back from Farncombe. After a catalogue of chances, Fleet eventually went 2-0 up, Jayden slipping Miles in to bury low down at the near post. Farncombe then got a gratuitous goal when Harry was tripped tracking the ball back, leaving the striker free to score 2-1. Into the second half and Fleet's fluency disappeared, from back to front we looked unsure and playing without belief. With this, Farncombe equalised as huge indecision's between Ben(gk) and his defenders enabled an Allstar to pounce for 2-2. Fleet nearly went behind from a corner, no-one taking charge and clearing when Farncombe sent the ball whistling over the bar. Another chance for the Allstars, the midfield and defence sat and watched the loose ball as Ben(gk) was out quick to block. The Colts were all at sea as Farncombe sensed a win, after a few more scares Fleet slowly started to find their rhythm again. Daniel got himself clean through but hit the outside of the post, then Steven's great run let in Lewis H to blast just over the bar. Steven dazzled again with a drop of a shoulder and surged into the box, putting the ball onto Lewis H's swinging right boot for 3-2. With a sigh of relief from both player's and supporter's the home side scored again, a welcome cushion as the game drew to a close. Daniel's shot somehow again found the post but this time the inside of it and the ball nestled nicely in the other corner for 4-2. Farncombe made for a very nervous finish as they clawed one back to 4-3, never has the final whistle sounded so nice. Man of the Match was awarded to Ryan Green, quietly and consistently went about his normal business today - job done.

U11  Chertsey Town Blues  3  Fleet Town Colts  8  (SPL Premier League)
Fleet were up against much sterner opposition this week and could of been 1-0 down early on when a Chertsey header hit the bar. For the first ten minutes Fleet were on the back foot, soaking up the pressure but looking good on the counter attack. Jayden was then denied a clear penalty, breaking away he was clumsily brought down by the advancing keeper but nothing given. With Chertsey being the more creative side, Liam & Ben H had to come to the rescue of their Co defenders to twice clear goal bound shots. Fleet's back four of Ben H, Mathew and especially Liam & Harry were continuously being called upon to keep Chertsey at bay. Slightly against the run of play, Fleet broke the deadlock when Lewis W's stunning free kick flew into the top left-hand corner for 0-1 Having ignored our linesman with an early off-side call, the ref allowed Chertsey to run on and bring the game back level to 1-1. Fleet needed this wake-up call and it came, everything about their play became much better ending with Daniel's shot just over the bar. The game was being evenly contested now, Mathew then put in a delicious in-swinger that Lewis H side-footed home for a 1-2 lead. Before Chertsey could recover it became 1-3 to Fleet with Steve's cracking shot from outside the box and beyond the keeper's reach. Fleet were now in full flow going for Chertsey's jugular, wave after wave of Fleet pressure found Ollie to poach the loose ball for 1-4. Seconds later, Ollie nearly got his second of the game but for a fantastic diving save to push the ball wide just kept it out. Half time 1 - 4. Fleet came out very confident and looked the most likely to score next, Ryan Ollie and the 2 Lewis's running the show in midfield. Mathew put a defence splitting cross-field ball through for Miles to run in on goal, with a slight deflection his shot put Fleet 1-5 up. It was all Fleet now and they were full-on, trying to put this game to bed as Daniel somehow put his shot just wide of the post. He then got Fleet's 6th goal of the game, one-touch passing from Ben H Lewis W and Steve allowed Daniel to tap into an empty net. Soon it was 1-7 as Jayden eventually found his old shooting boots with a top left hand corner strike from Steve's inch perfect ball over. With Fleet cruising to an emphatic win over a very strong side, they took their foot of the gas and paid for it conceding 2 sloppy goals. Fleet got their 8th goal as Ryan's muscle and flair put Ollie through, he then cut the ball back for Lewis H to thump the ball home. As the game closed, Lewis H nearly got his hat-trick, Daniel put a delicious ball in that Lewis headed just over the bar. Man of the Match was awarded to Lewis Hughes, umpteen headers and had a hand in most of Fleet's play including a brace.

U11  Fleet Town Colts 'A'  5  Worplesdon Rangers  1  (SPL Premier League)
Fleet Town Colts are looking very good along with fresh faces and talent, helping to create an 11 a-side squad for this coming season. Having had a very successful pre-season with 3 wins out of 3, scoring 15 and conceding only 2 must of encouraged the boys going into their 1st league game. From the kick-off, Fleet set up camp in the Rangers half playing at a high tempo and rarely letting them trouble our back four. After this long spell of pressure, it was Ryan who played the first real killer through ball for Daniel to run onto and round the keeper for a 1-0 lead. Although Fleet exposed Rangers lack of speed through the middle, Kai's & Steve's footwork and runs also gave Rangers trouble down the flanks. Then Daniel was almost in again, Liam from out wide on the right laid the perfect ball through but Daniel was beaten to it by the alert keeper to smother the ball. The boys wern't afraid to have a pop from distance, Mathew & Ryan tested the keepers handling and then a belter from Lewis H made the keeper save low down to his right. Rangers then had a rare threat to our goal, after a tame kick out from Ben (gk) Ryan had to throw himself in and block the obvious goal bound shot to spare Ben's blushes. Ben (gk) made real amends when the Ranger's striker was clean through, verbally & physically he made his present felt and dashed out from his area to clear just in time. The need for a 2nd showed and it came when the instrumental Lewis W picked out Daniel down the left, getting into the box he laid it on a plate for Lewis H to smash home. Half time 2-0 Rangers came out a little better than us in the 2nd half, defenders Mathew & Harry guilty of hanging on to the ball and after losing it the ball was thankfully put in Row Z. Having settled themselves down, Fleet went back on the offensive and again Lewis W's perfectly weighted ball was toe poked home by Daniel for his second and Fleet's 3rd. Daniel then returned the favour, after some neat and close passing between Lewis H & Daniel he laid the ball off sideways for Lewis W to find the far corner for 4-0. Ranger's refused to give up though, our back four of Ryan Liam Harry & Mathew couldn't switch off for a moment as Ben (gk) had to pull off the save of the game. Having rode a little spell of pressure from Ranger's, Lewis H bought the ball out from defence and advanced down the line and put a great ball in behind the defender. Having tracked him all the way, Mathew found himself in on goal with a defender on his heels but with a shove in the back Mathew hit the ground for a stone-wall penalty. Wasting no time Mathew placed the ball on the spot and smacked the ball high to the keeper's right and into the roof of the net for a well deserved 5-0 lead. With full time approaching and Ranger's well beaten, they managed to get a consolation goal. A well hit strike that Ben (gk) got a hand to but it crept in for a 5-1 result. Man of the Match was awarded to Daniel Ellis, with a lot of running and assist play capped by 2 very well taken goals.
